- Kathleen “Kay” Koenig Werner, 65 of E. 2nd St. Portsmouth, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born June 1, 1947, in Portsmouth and is the daughter of Ruth O’Hara Koenig of Portsmouth and the late Herbert Koenig.
Surviving are a son, William John Werner, IV of Middletown, a grandchild, Skylar Werner, two brothers: Michael Koenig and wife Debbie of Columbus, Jeffrey Koenig and wife Lisa of Rock Hill, S.C., two sisters: Patricia Cassidy of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., and Diana Johnson of Columbus.
She was a retired Cafeteria Worker from the former Mercy Hospital and Southern Ohio Medical Center with 24 years of service, a 1965 Graduate of Notre Dame High School, and a member of the Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Portsmouth.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Our Lady Lourdes Catholic Church in Otway with Father David Young, Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Garvin Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m.. at Botkin Funeral Home in Otway. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
