- Columbus, Georgia - Joseph Franklin Hauldren, 93, of Columbus died Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, July 23, 2019 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. John Copeland, III officiating.
Interment with Masonic and Military Honors will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Hauldren was born August 22, 1924 in Otway, Ohio son of the late Joseph Harley and Mary Teagarden Hauldren. Joe was a mason for over 60 years. He was also a member of the Eastern Star and the 389th Bomb Group. Joe retired after 23 years in the U.S. Air Force serving in World War II, Korea and the Vietnam War. He has many distinguished awards to include the Presidential Unit Citation with 3/Oak leaf clusters.
Mr. Hauldren loved his family, hunting, and sitting and watching his animals. He loved motorcycles and was a member of several clubs. He loved square dancing and received his square dancing diploma at the age of 84.
Other than his parents, Mr. Hauldren was preceded in death by his former wife of 55 years Eula Hauldren, son, Patrick Hauldren, sisters, Clemence Susan Behymer, Donna Jean Hamilton, Ellen Marie Alexander and brother Shriver Hauldren.
Survivors include his wife Dot Hauldren, son Joseph Harley Hauldren (Carolyn), granddaughter, Virginia Ball (Brian), Josie and Kelly Hauldren, great-grandson, Druid Bell, sister, Leah Snow, step-children, Dan Hughes (Yovana), Patricia )Terrial Parkson), Dr. John B. Copeland, III (Jill), Diane Madden (Kelly), Maria Kilby (Marvin Davis), Veronica Darlene Lawrence and many nieces and nephews and devoted friends.
