    • Joseph Jewett's father, Milton Jewett, died in Arkansas when Joseph was a very young man. As his father was dying he promised him that he would bring the family to Utah. After his father's death, he then went to Utah where he worked in the Gold Smelting Mill at Mercer, Utah. It was while he worked here that he began to bring his family members to Utah. That is how the Throckmorton family came to Utah. After his young brother and half-brothers died, he moved to Koosharem, Utah in search of one of the missionaries that had taught his father. It was in Koosharem that he met and married Sarah Hannah Parsons. She was 16 and he was either 21 or 22. He built one of the finest and largest homes in Koosharem and then traded it for a farm. He somehow acquired a saw mill and my mother remembers playing in the mountains of sawdust. He also had a well digging business and was quite prosperous until the depression days.
