    Notes 
    • Nancy filed a widow's claim for pension February 7, 1865. Jenkin's last name was originally listed as Davies which later caused a problem with Nancy collecting his military pension. The government rejected her claim so she hired a lawyer living in West Union, John K. Billings, to represent her case before the government. Mr. Billings filed a number of petitions with witnesses to the fact Jenkin and Nancy were married as well as their children and their ages. The witness's were as follows: Eliza Dear, Eliza Andrews, John W. Dear (her brother), John Dear (her father), and Margaret Callaway. Joseph Thurman, Justice of the Peace, took Eliza Dear and Eliza Andrews's depositions. John K. Billings took the rest of the depositions.
      The records for Jenkins Davis were amended October 22, 1884. Nancy received a military pension of $7.00 a month to raise her children. She received her last pension check for $12 on June 4, 1906.
